Preparations:
What Can You Do to Prepare for a Move?
Once you've booked your moving service with Keep Trucking Logistic LLC, it's time to start preparing for the big day! Here are some tips on getting ready for moving day:
-
Clean a little bit each day. To avoid becoming overwhelmed, try to clean one room each day leading up to your move. Go through closets and drawers and donate any items you no longer need. Not only does this lighten the load that needs to be moved, it'll also save you money on packing materials and labor costs!
-
Have a plan for children and pets. To keep kids and pets safe and secure, create a plan to keep them away from the hustle and bustle of the move. Now is a great time for a play date at a friend's house or a day at the pet spa!
-
Prepare your appliances. Taking appliances like refrigerators or stoves with you? Disconnect them in advance to save time on moving day!
-
Pack boxes of essentials. Gather all of the things you'll need to be comfortable on your first day/night in your new home (such as pillows and blankets, towels, etc.) We can load these items last so they're the first out of the truck when we arrive at your new home.
Note:
-
Drawers: All desk drawers, lateral and fireproof file cabinets must be emptied. The contents can remain in standard metal file cabinets but must be locked or securely taped shut. Clothing can remain in dresser drawers. Please remove any fragile, valuable or heavy items, such as perfume, jewelry, books and papers.
-
Clothing: Clothes must be either boxed up or hung in a wardrobe box. Wardrobe boxes are available upon request.
-
Appliances: Empty the contents of your refrigerator and freezer. Due to licensing and liabilities, we cannot disconnect or reconnect any gas appliance. Upon request, the Movers may disconnect or reconnect your washing machine or dryer, if they find it safe to do so and you sign a Release of Liability. Keep Trucking Logistics LLC® is not responsible for damage to plumbing, electrical systems, or for water damage associated with the connection or disconnection of washers, dryers or refrigerators.
-
Oversized items: Moving overly large or unique items can result in extra charges or the need for additional manpower. Ask your move consultant about moving items including pianos, safes, fireproof file cabinets, pool tables, marble-top tables, flat-screen TVs, riding lawnmowers and other items of extraordinary size or weight. Keep in mind that there may be an item we are unable to move.
-
Cleanliness: Movers have the right to refuse to move unsanitary items. Moving trucks, pads and equipment must be clean for all Customers.
-
Elevators: Contact your building supervisor to reserve the elevator and have it padded for move day. Please let our office know if any restrictions apply.
-
Parking: Ample parking must be available for the truck. Parking areas and walkways should be clear of all obstructions.
-
-
New construction: Provide a clean access path to your new home, such as with plywood.
-
Parking meters must be capped.
-
-
Safety: Licensing and liabilities prevent Movers from transporting flammable liquids, firearms, explosives or any container filled with gasoline or propane. Please make other arrangements for these items
